New Work: Red Sky Public Relations

We've been thrilled to watch the agency expand and succeed in the past few years and have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with our friends at Red Sky. In late 2010, we were hired to update and modernize the Red Sky website in terms of the Interface Design, Blog Integration, and Website Code. The new site launched in January of 2011 and has been very well received.

For the under-the-hood technology, we looked to Wordpress as our first choice, as it is a well-adopted, open-source platform and easy for our clients to learn. The similarities to Microsoft products in terms of editing makes it a great option for our clients. The plug-ins available with Wordpress allow us to offer much of the functionality that was necessary, as well as have complete control over the visual display of content. The Events Calendar and People section both rely on plug-ins to allow our clients to manage these sections. During a single training session and a few follow-up questions, our clients were off and running on keeping the site up to date.

In terms of the website design goals, we needed to ensure a unique, design-centric approach. We used design techniques that allowed us to meet the project goals and have some fun along the way. We wanted the website content to be as interactive as possible. In order to keep the navigation in the same place at all times, the page content scrolls under the navigation bar. The People page is visually pleasing, informative, and interactive with rollovers that reveal more information.

We are very happy with the outcome and psyched at the opportunity to help Red Sky Public Relations reflect their growth, success, and personality with the new site design.
