These days, a lot of us are indulging in guilty pleasures. A quarantini here, a binge-watch there...treating ourselves is saving our sanity. One pleasure I’m not feeling guilty about is celebrating Idaho’s creative community with the 2020 Rockies Awards.

Instead of cancelling this year’s awards show, the Boise Advertising Federation blew everyone’s minds on Saturday with a 3D livestream event. I watched the whole thing in my best joggers (keepin’ it classy) and 3D glasses, my cats by my side. And I have to say, it was fantastic!

These crazy times are also inspiring many of us to focus on gratitude. The Carew Co. team and I overflowing with thanks for our clients. We’re honored that they trust us with something as important as how the world sees, hears, and interacts with their brands. Our clients truly believe in their companies and organizations, and their passion inspires us to dig deep. We gain so much from our relationships with them, and we’re prouder than ever to be supporting local and small businesses.

I’m also insanely grateful for my team. They’re ridiculously talented, incredibly hard working, and have excellent taste in music (important in a “cozy” office). Every day, they embrace the creative opportunities that come our way and push past the bounds of what I, or our clients, could have possibly envisioned.

So check out what our clients allowed us to be a part of this year, and the inspired solutions the team created. I couldn’t be prouder!

OUR 2020 Rockies Awards Wins

Epic Idaho Relocation Guide

SILVER: EPIC Realty, EPIC Idaho Relocation Guide

The secret is out: The Treasure Valley is an awesome place to live and work. Now how do we welcome all these newcomers and help them settle in? Carew Co. teamed up with EPIC Realty to create a relocation guide that introduces families to all the fun seasonal events available in our community. This incredibly helpful resource will have them feeling like locals in no time!

Jaialdi

SILVER: Jaialdi 2020 Poster

Collateral Material — Poster | Single

Jaialdi 2020 may be postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic, but that’s OK — our poster is meant to be a classic (and was easily updated for 2021). We drew on the feel of this popular, every-five-years Basque event by including dancers, revelers, and a nighttime Basque Block crowd. After months of seeing this poster around town, we’re thrilled to be recognized for it!

FLY Racing is one of the biggest brands in action sports gear and apparel. Although they have their own design team, FLY Racing turned to Carew Co.’s UX designers, Shailey and Thomas, for help optimizing their site. Our dynamic duo did an amazing overhaul, including creating a fast, streamlined shopping experience. It was a blast collaborating with the FLY Racing crew to create a site that’s as badass as they are.

Identity Programs — Logo or trademark design

The newly formed Garden City Visitors Bureau gave us a heavy lift: revamp the city’s image by creating its first-ever brand. Central to this effort is, of course, a logo. The hand-drawn logo created by Senior Art Director Thomas Walsh celebrates the city’s iconic landmarks and events. Look closely and you’ll see the Ranch Club’s famous horse, the Boise River, the fairgrounds, local craft beverages, and so much more.

The Snake River Farms Holiday Gift Guide is a showpiece of the company’s amazingly luscious steaks. It also has to tell a story — something we did by going directly to the ranchers who raise the prime cattle SRF uses to create its products. The holiday catalog featured range life at its best, highlighting not only the beautiful Western landscape but the intimacy and coziness of the ranch itself.

McCall

Who doesn’t love McCall? What people weren’t loving was the McCall Chamber of Commerce website. We were thrilled when they approached us to not only make it look great, but to better reflect the area’s year-round opportunities for fun. New features like seasonal compass, events calendar, and improved navigation and search now help users
